This amazing day at Disneyland is founded to unite the epilepsy community, to bring epilepsy out of the shadows, and to stomp out epilepsy stigma. We can inspire a nation in which 1:26 people will have epilepsy in their lives by bringing awareness while bringing stories of wonderful people working and playing together.

Season Passport Holders can obtain a “participant pack” which includes the event gift bag and shirt.
Benefits: Each ticket or participant pack purchase will include a $5 donation to one of the participating non-profit epilepsy related groups.
  • Where will the event take place?

    Epilepsy Awareness Day at Disneyland Resort 2014 will take place at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.

  • When is the event?

    Epilepsy Awareness Day at Disneyland Resort 2014 will take place on November 6, 2014 during normal park operating hours. We will be outside the park for a meet-and-greet at 9am, and the park will be open from 10am-8pm for a day full of fun, photos, and fellowship!

  • Who is this event for?

    This event is for people of all ages with Epilepsy, their families and friends, and anyone else whose life has been touched by Epilepsy, as well as anyone who wants to raise funds or awareness for Epilepsy.

  • Who will be there?

     

    Over 3,000 epilepsy awareness supports including families, doctors from private practice (co-founder Diane Stein MD) and teaching hospitals / epilepsy centers (such as fron UCLA, CHLA and NYU), leaders of many non-profit groups (such as FACES, Dravet.org, TACA), and leaders from industries associated with epilepsy research and treatment.

  • How much does the event cost?

    Entrance to the park on Epilepsy Awareness Day will cost the same as a regular adult single-day, single-park ticket: $92. However, when tickets are purchased through our webstore, $5 from your purchase goes to one of our non-profit Epilepsy-related partner organizations; you get to pick which one!

  • What do I get with my ticket purchase?

    The purchase of your ticket includes a full day entrance to Disneyland’s Magic Kingdom park (that’s the main park. Entrance to California Adventures is not included, sorry!), as well as a Participant Pack which contains a limited edition purple event shirt featuring a unique Mickey Mouse logo specific to our event, and an event bag full of other goodies and information!

  • I've got an Annual Pass. Can I still attend?

    Yes! All Annual Passes are valid the day of the event! The day is made strong by the attendance of as many people as possible! To help support the event, you can purchase your Participant Pack which contains a limited edition purple event shirt featuring a unique Mickey Mouse logo specific to our event and an event bag by visiting our Store Page!

  • What are the benefits of attending?

    In addition to a fun-filled day at Disneyland, the purchase of every ticket or Participant Pack will include a $5 donation to one of the participating non-profit epilepsy-related groups. You can choose your organization when you check out! You will also be part of the amazing professional photos from the day and be one of the thousands to share these images to help raise awareness! Your family will have the opportunity to met others with the same condition or family circumstances, to chat with doctors and others who work with epilepsy – all while having a great day of inclusion on a day with very low typical park attendance...  Which means not waiting for rides and no crowds – except for us, of course!

  • Do I need a participant pack to attend?

    The Participant Pack is a really neat SWAG Bag (Stuff We Always Get) of goodies prepared just for Epilepsy Awareness Day at Disneyland Resort 2014! It contains a limited edition Epilepsy Awareness Day purple T-shirt and tote bag which can only be obtained by purchasing the participant pack. They will not be sold anywhere else! In addition, the Participant Pack will be full of all sorts of helpful information about Epilepsy. Do you need one to participate? Absolutely not. However, by purchasing the pack, you will be helping to increase our funds which will go to support epilepsy research and awareness. Plus, we think you’ll look super fly in that purple shirt ;)

     

    When purchasing Participant Packs, you will only need one per family, and can purchase additional shirts for each other member. Don't worry, we'll remind you about this in the Store.

  • Who started this event?

    Dr. Diane Stein, MD and Brad Levy of AskDrStein.com saw a devision in the epilepsy community, and a chance to make a difference by joining the communities with a special day at their local amusement park, Disneyland! With a number of patient’s parents working at Disneyland, they saw an amazing opportunity, and worked up the courage to ask for a day at Disneyland to make the epilepsy community’s own! The rest is history (and a lot of hard work)!

  • Where should I stay when I come for the event?

    There are several very nice hotels on the Disneyland property, as well as in the surrounding area. We’ve been very busy making this event happen, and are doing our best to make some deals available with some of the local hotels. If we are able to arrange any specials, we'll let you know here on the site or on our Facebook page. However, in the meantime you can find great deals checking out some of the travel sites, or checking with your travel agent, you’ll definitely be able to find a great deal on a hotel nearby the park!

  • Can I sign up to help with the event?

  • How can I become a sponsor?

    If you or your organization would like to become a sponsor of the event, please email Candy@epilepsyawarenessday.org and we’ll get back to you with information! To become a sponsor group, the group must have a 501c3 and have filed at least one 990, as well as being directly related to epilepsy, or a group for a specific population that has epilepsy as a central or common feature.

  • Can professional groups partner?

    Their 501c3 non-profit may, however a for-profit group will need to sponsor, or join in with banners or buttons to identify themselves. Email us at Candy@epilepsyawarenessday.org for more information.

  • Can I bring in my service dog?

    Under California law, a service dog may be brought into any public location without requiring any identification that he or she is a service dog. While we don’t expect any issues, please be sure to bring any information you might have have which shows that your dog is a registered service dog.

  • I don't have epilepsy, but want to support awareness. Should I still come?

    ABSOLUTELY! Epilepsy awareness can only be made stronger by having more people attend our event! Please come, and bring anybody else who wishes to support epilepsy awareness!

  • Is this event just for kids?

    Of course not! This event is to raise awareness for people of all ages affected by epilepsy!

  • Where can I get more information, or some fliers/handouts to distribute?

As far as fliers or handouts, feel free to email us and ask. We may have something in the office we can send to you to help us to promote this special day!
